Currently, Mexico City not only represents the political and economic center of the country, but has also established itself as a Social Capital, where the origin and the end of all the City Government’s activity is the welfare of its inhabitants, materialized in direct benefits, through the implementation of social policies oriented towards human development.

Human and social rights promotion, as well as inclusion and equity, compose the City’s social agenda, which integrates fundamental issues such as development, education, culture, public health, gender equality, youth and sport promotion; aspects that contribute to social cohesion and, above all, in the construction of democracy and citizenship in Mexico City.

Due to its active participation in international networks and forums dedicated to these issues, as well as to the exchange of experiences with foreign local and national governments, Mexico City has also positioned itself as a regional and international reference in good practices oriented towards development.
